CJ

2004-____

English Sheppard

CJ was found running alone outside town.  He seemed well kept but no owner could be found.  I saw him first at the county humane society Saturday showing.  He licked my hand and asked for help.  I was unable to say no so I took him home.  What a joy to watch him because he is always happy and energetic.  He fit in quickly and became part of the family.  He sleeps under my covers and would lie on my lap all day if I'd let him.  He goes with me everywhere I go. CJ, an English Sheppard, Arrived 10/2005

10/11/2005 - CJ sure likes to play and have fun.  I believe he is happy with his new friends.

10/30/2005 - I have CJ figured now.  He is a con-artist.  He puts his head on my shoulder then steals my heart.  He's a little mischievous but that's OK.

12/16/2005 - CJ is very athletic and he has learned to jump from the ground to my shoulder and take a ride wherever I walk to.  One problem.  He does not always wait for a command and his aim sometimes puts his toenails on my neck or face.  He is loaded with energy and I have to watch him close anytime we are outside.  He can be dangerous but its OK.

12/25/2005 - CJ got a really big bone for Christmas and gave it a good going over.  It must have made him tired.  Merry Christmas baby.

11/25/2006 - CJ really has more energy than most canines.  He goes all the time unless he can lay on my lap or on the floor beside me.  Although he is smaller he wrestles with Echo and Megan a lot and holds his own well.  He is chasing someone or being chased much of the time they are outdoors.

3/13/2007 - CJ really put a scare into me last week end.  He went missing at 10:30 AM Friday and was nowhere to be found.  He and Echo were outside the fence and the gate was closed and latched.  Echo was home waiting but CJ was gone.  I searched all weekend, talking with neighbors, putting up notices and notifying anyone who might help.  I drove the roads many times within about 5 miles, walked fields, pastures and areas I couldn't drive in.  The last place he was seen was near a house under construction.  Knowing the gate was latched and he was gone I began to think he may have been stolen.  He was wearing a tag with a phone number so if he'd been found, someone should have called.  On Sunday I went to a house a short distance from mine because I hadn't been able to find them home.  What a surprise.  CJ was sitting on their front porch.  It was exactly 48 hours after he went missing.  He was beat up some, had cuts and scratches but nothing was broken.  I wish he could talk.  There are many coyotes in the area, as well as dog packs, and some neighbors dogs can be testy.  After a bath, a trip to the vet, and food CJ is on the road to recovery and I thank God for his return.  I prayed a lot for the little guy.

6/14/2007 - CJ has recovered completely now and is his old self again.  He has lots of energy and likes to be close.
