Megan showed up at the Humane Society because the family she was with couldn't handle her. She was hyper as well as shy.  She was afraid of everything that moved or made a noise.  She hid in far corners of the house and would go to the bath tub for security.  She liked the bath tub so much I just gave her the one by the utility room and stuffed it with cushions to lay on.  I didn't use it anyway.  She has become a really good friend and gets on real well with Echo and CJ.  She likes to run away and explore, for an hour or so, if she gets out of the fenced yard.  She always comes back but I worry about her getting run over or making a neighbor mad enough to hurt her.  She likes to hunt but will not stay close.  She sleeps with me at night but stays to herself a lot during the day.  Every so often she comes to check on me.  That's nice.

1/21/2004 - Megan is just getting better by the day. She is now very much at home here. She is a great watch dog. She makes a lot of noise but would not bite anyone. Real friendly little guard.

7/20/2004 - Megan is still a little nervous during stormy weather but she sure is content to be with us here at our house.

4/21/2005 - Megan has a new playmate now, Echo, and she likes having him here. They romp and play all the time, it seems, and I am happy they became good friends.

6/15/2005 - Megan and Echo are still great friends.  What a treat each day to have 2 fine friends living here.

10/30/2005 - Megan is getting used to our new friends now and plays with them most of the time.  She seems to be the only one who never gets hurt or dirty.  Maybe being two years older she is less careless.

12/16/2005 - Since Echo and CJ came here Megan has become more aggressive asking for attention.  She likes to sit in the recliner more than before and she lays much closer at night.  She stayed much more at a distance before.  She always liked attention but you had to go to her.  Now she comes to me and I like that.

11/25/2006 - Megan is still a little bit a loner but I continually encourage her into our midst and she comes readily.  She has a habit of standing back behind Echo and CJ but I don't let her get away with it and I don't let them stay in front.  Around here, everyone is equal.

9/3/2007 - Megan is 6 now and getting a little white on her joules and toes but she is aging gracefully and enjoying her time.  She plays some with CJ and Echo and likes to lay outside in the sun.  I keep telling her she will fade but she don't care. 

She has never been one to ask for attention but she comes to me more often now for it.  I don't know what changed her mind, I let her do what ever she wants.  She is just more of a loner and wants to be left alone except at meal time.
